Cricket is an outdoor sport activity which involves bat and ball and is played between two teams of usually eleven players each. A professional cricket match is played on a rectangular grass field. In the center of the field is strip which is rectangular in shape, and is 22 yards long. This strip is often called as the pitch. Both the ends of the pitch have a construction of three wooden sticks stuck in the ground. These sticks are known as stumps.
