Cricket is an outdoor sport activity which involves bat and ball and is played between two teams of usually eleven players each. A professional cricket match is played on a rectangular grass field. In the center of the field is strip which is rectangular in shape, and is 22 yards long. This strip is often called as the pitch. Both the ends of the pitch have a construction of three wooden sticks stuck in the ground. These sticks are known as stumps.

After football, cricket is also known as the second most popular sport in the world. There are about hundred cricket playing countries that are under direct control of the ICC or the international cricket council. Most popular countries playing cricket include England, Australia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India, and South Africa and so on. There are local amateur clubs established in almost all cricket playing nations where new local talents can rise up and play for their mother land. These amateur clubs usually are free and open to the general public and membership does cost some money. You can hire coaches to train from these clubs.
