Problems Related to Steroids

Steroid abuse is becoming an object of discussion now days. Recent reports are the proof of their excessive and relentless use by athletes. These athletes are considered to be the role model and excessive use of steroids by these famous personalities send not so good message to the public and especially to their fans.

In NIDA research report Mr. Nora D.Volkow, the director of National Institute on Drug Abuse while pointing towards the athletes had said that they might had forgotten that the fact that being the best in not important but how you got up to that level is the only thing which is significant.

Abuse of these anabolic steroids doesn’t cause immediate health problems as compared to other illegitimate drugs like heroin, marijuana and cocaine that’s why there use is increasing very rapidly with every day passing. Teenagers and youngsters are most attracted to these steroids because of their desire of having good physical appearance and physique. These steroids can also boost the strength and confidence.

This is the second reason why they are quite popular among youth. But youngsters use to ignore its potential serious and lasting damage. This is the advice to youngsters that they should use these steroids only after prescribed by a very good doctor in a limited quantity as suggested by doctor.

Excessive these steroids can really cause some irreversible health problems such as kidney failure, liver tumours, strokes and some severe psychiatric problems. These steroids become very dangerous for the persons suffering from infections such as HIV/AIDS and hepatitis B and C.
